<p>Engagor now sports a design that is more user-friendly and just looks better. The new design makes full use of the available screen space and advances Engagor to an application-like tool.</p>

			<h4>Improved topic setup and filtering options</h4>
			<p>You no longer have to worry about OR’s, AND’s or parentheses in your topic setup or when filtering your inbox and statistics.<br />In Engagor 3.0 we introduce the flexible ‘visual search’; Each row equals a filter condition that the mentions have to meet. This new interface enables you to set up complex filters in a straightforward and structured way. Moreover, when you apply a certain combination of filters, you can save this search to reuse it later.<br />These advanced filters can then be applied to every single statistics page within Engagor.<br /><br /> An example? Getting a list of influential people from Belgium, that have less than 1000 followers and have spoken about you with a negative sentiment. Another one? Getting a breakdown of the time of day and day of week when people are active on a certain Facebook page.<br />And that&#8217;s just two of the possibilities; we&#8217;re eager to find out which inventive filters our clients can come up with. Oh, and of course filtering is super quick and results are realtime.</p>

			<p>In what we call our ‘workflow engine’ you can trigger custom actions when new social mentions <em>(that match certain filters)</em> are found. As you can imagine, this is a very powerful feature.<br />
Actions you can trigger include sending an email notification or assigning a mention to a team member. This way you can, for example, identify new sales leads by assigning mentions about your competitors directly to the sales team, or escalate peaks in negative mentions more quickly by sending real time email notifications for them.<br />
With this feature we allow you to automate your social workflow to make sure the right mentions are handled by the right people!</p>

	<li><strong>Engagor looks better!</strong> We&#8217;ve evolved to an application-like tool that&#8217;s easier on the eye and easier to use. Filtering your Inbox to see exactly those mentions that you&#8217;re interested in, has never been this simple. In the lefthand column you can now choose the topics you wish to see and apply several main filters: profile, sentiment, source, type and tag. Want to drill down even further? Use the new &#8216;visual search&#8217;!</li>

	<li><strong>The visual search.</strong> Although setting up simple queries with Engagor was already straightforward, making it more complex always involved a struggle with OR&#8217;s, AND&#8217;s and parentheses. That&#8217;s why Engagor developed the visual search in which you can easily add filter conditions and change them to fit your needs. This interface is now used for the keyword setup as well as the search field throughout the tool.</li>

	<li><strong>Workflow engine.</strong> The visual search is already very powerful on its own but it gets even better. In what we call our ‘workflow engine’ you can link certain filters to certain actions. As you can imagine, this is a feature with much potential. For example, you can enable an email notification every time the number of mentions reaches a predetermined level. Another possibility is to automatically assign mentions to certain users. You can, for example, use this possibility to identify new sales leads by assigning mentions about your competitors directly to the sales team. Make sure the right mentions are handled by the right people!</li>

It&#8217;s not just women they want to reach: they aim at a much wider range of users and it appears that they&#8217;re succeeding!

Yet another social network? Yes and no. No need denying that this is indeed a new social platform but it clearly differs from the (most popular) existing ones. Twitter is mainly based on  text. Facebook focuses on a combination of text and pictures/videos. Pinterest revolves around pictures. As a user you create several dashboards and (re)pin pictures to it. In today&#8217;s society, information overload makes a picture pinboard very attractive. Many people work with words all day long: read the newspaper, read reports, create reports, read and write emails&#8230; After all this reading, Pinterest offers a welcome distraction.

Ok, it&#8217;s fun. Ok, it&#8217;s different. But what&#8217;s the added value for brands? As your network grows, your career opportunities grow with it. Research brought to light that 20% of the people moving on to another career, did so in an organisation where they already had connections through their (second degree) LinkedIn network.

Expanding your network also works for jobseekers. If you&#8217;re looking for a job, it might be wise to invest in your LinkedIn network. The data revealed that people with a growing network were 30% more likely to find a job than jobseekers with a static network!

If you haven&#8217;t heard about this campaign by now, you&#8217;ve probably lived without computer, television or radio for a couple of days. &#8220;Kony 2012&#8243; is everywhere. Yesterday Engagor started monitoring the campaign through a very straightforward set of keywords and by connecting the campaign&#8217;s Twitter and Facebook account to this topic. One thing has sure become clear: all around the world people are continuously talking about it. </p>

But what is this all about? On Monday March 5th nonprofit organization <a href="http://www.invisiblechildren.com.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/" target="_blank">Invisible Children</a> launched a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc" target="_blank">30-minute documentary video</a> calling for the arrest of Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony. In four days&#8217; time the video went viral, thus making it a very interesting case to start monitoring with Engagor.</p>

Here are some interesting facts we found out about: 
<ul>
<li>Every 812 milliseconds someone mentions the campaign in a tweet, retweet, Facebook post, blog post, forum post or news article.</li>
<li>Invisible Children already tweeted about &#8220;Kony 2012&#8243; 214 times, reaching almost 11 million people. Souljaboy, an American rapper, only needed 20 tweets to reach an audience of over 68 million! That&#8217;s ten times less tweets to reach six times as many listeners. </li>
<li>Stars were encouraged by their fans to help spread the message. And that&#8217;s what they did. Engagor shows us  Zayn Malik (member of the UK band One Direction), Yung Chow (American rapper), Rihanna and P Diddy are the most popular Twitter accounts (most retweeted) in this campaign.</li>
</ul>

In this case, the Youtube Twitter account is in pole position, followed closely by Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Oprah. </li>

The omnipresence of languages like English or Spanish might make us forget that not all languages are written from left to right! Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu are spoken by over 450 million people around the world and written &#8216;the other way around&#8217;: from right to left.</p>

<p><a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/03/twitter-now-available-in-arabic-farsi.html" target="_blank">Twitter is now available in these four languages</a>, something that&#8217;s been made possible in record time thanks to the hard work of a group of volunteers joined in the Twitter <a href="http://translate.twttr.com/welcome" target="_blank">Translation Center</a> and the efforts of the engineering team who made it possible to write tweets in both left-to-right and right-to-left scripts, without messing up hashtags or numbers. They even made it possible to combine both scripts in one tweet without causing any problems.</p>
<p></p>

<p>It was not until January 25th that Twitter added Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu to the languages in its Translation Center.  Volunteers <span style="color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 24px;">from all over the world</span><span style="color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 24px;"> </span>- including a Saudi blogger, Egyptian college students, a journalist at the BBC, IT professionals in Iran and Pakistan, an Israeli schoolteacher, the co-founders of the grassroots #LetsTweetInArabic campaign, academics specializing in linguistics, and teenagers in Lebanon - immediately started translating Twitter into these four languages. It&#8217;s touching to learn how some of the volunteers live in regions where Twitter is officially blocked and yet put a lot of time and effort in trying to make it accesible for their communities, without any guarantee they will ever have (official) access to the site.</p>
<p></p>

Turned out 1 in 2 Turkish workers showed symptoms of this incurable disease after inhaling the softener for 6 months. The public expressed their indignation through Facebook and Twitter and got what it wanted: within a month Versace and Armani openly condemned sandblasted jeans and banned it from their lines.

<p>This is only one example of the immense power consumers have in these modern times. Social media act as an amplifier for the public&#8217;s voice, making sure brands can&#8217;t possibly ignore it. <a title="Infographic power consumers social media" href="http://frugaldad.com/social" target="_blank">Frugal Dad</a> created a &#8211; rather long, but really interesting &#8211; infographic on some of the most incredible social consumer victories up until now. 	<li>While marketers will probably mourn the disappearance of a default landing page, Facebook compensates this through the possibility of adding <strong>pins</strong> on top of your page.
