Some time ago Folke, our CEO, gave an interview to Frederic De Meyer from the Insitute for Future Insights, who was working on a book about young entrepreneurs in Belgium. Today the book, Jonge Ondernemend Vlaanderen (Young Entrepreneurial Flanders) is finished, published and available for sale. In less than 1 year, Engagor has developed an impressive number of services to help businesses make their ‘online’ presence profitable. The tool offers, amongst others, detailed statistics on Social Media, a simple way to communicate with clients, and a practical search system.
After one year of preparations, Folke launched the tool in February 2011. Engagor already generated income in the very first month and pretty rapidly attracted clients, from Europe and Hong Kong to the United States. The possibility to try out Engagor for free, attracts about 20 new prospects every day, enough to ensure future growth without too much need of a marketing budget.
Similar to many Generation Y-youngsters that often change working places, Folke worked for several businesses before he started Engagor. A couple of years ago he was Vice President at Belgian social network Netlog. After that he worked at Language and Computing as a researcher, where he got familiar with semantics and linguistic analysis on social networks: something that comes in handy at Engagor, to analyze and interpret conversations on social networks.
